Alert message sent 10/06/2020 13:37:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

The following information is being circulated on behalf of SGN

I’m writing to you with an update on our project to upgrade our gas network in Glasgow Road, Sanquhar .

Following government advice back in March, we needed to make changes to our ways of working to protect our colleagues and communities from the spread of coronavirus. As a result, we temporarily paused our network upgrade project in your community.

As lockdown restrictions now begin to ease in Scotland, we’re looking to resume our work in Glasgow Road, Sanquhar shortly.

We shouldn’t need to interrupt gas supplies to homes or businesses, and our engineers won’t be calling at residents’ home.

We will restart work on 15 June and our project will last approximately six weeks.

We’ll be carrying out the work over two phases to help minimise disruption. Each phase is described below:

Phase one – approx. 2 weeks
On Monday 15 June, we’ll begin working in Glasgow Road, just beyond its junction with Broomfield.  To ensure everyone’s safety, we’ll install temporary two-way traffic lights in Glasgow Road while we carry out our work.

Phase two – approx. 4 weeks
From Monday 29 June, we’ll continue working in Glasgow Road at its junction with Broomfield. During this phase we’ll install temporary three- traffic lights at the Glasgow Road / Broomfield junction.

We’re working closely with Scottish Government to make sure we carry out our project in line with all expert coronavirus guidance. We have extra safety precautions in place to protect our colleagues and our communities while we work. There’s more information about our coronavirus response on our website: sgn.co.uk/coronavirus

We’re writing to residents and other local stakeholders to make them aware of our project and explain the details of our work. Please feel free to also share this information with anyone you think may be impacted by our project.

If you have any other enquiries about this project, please call project manager Scott McLymont on 07776 162 901 during office hours (8am to 4.30pm) or Customer Service on 0800 912 1700 outside these times.

Thank you for your support during these challenging times.
