Patrols to increase at open water locations

Alert message sent 02/06/2020 15:24:00

Information sent on behalf of Cambridgeshire Constabulary

Dear Subscriber,

Following a number of reports about anti-social behaviour across the Hamptons, we will be increasing our patrols.

With the recent warm weather and easing of lockdown measures it has come to our attention that groups of people are coming together at different locations, predominantly Teardrop Lake at Hampton Beach and the Beebys Lakes at Hampton Water, to drink and act in an anti-social manner.

PC Brady Slack said: “We appreciate that such locations will attract visitors, but please remain conscientious of the social distancing guidelines and take responsibility for your actions being there. It is also not safe to swim in many of our lakes, even more so if you are intoxicated.

“Utilise the refuse areas for your rubbish and park considerately, we are increasing patrols in the area to make sure this is being adhered to.

“Reports of anti-social behaviour, particularly at Hampton Beach, are really starting to have a negative effect on the residents which we want to be able put an end to.”

Kind Regards,
