Public Space Protection Order Consultation

Alert message sent 27/05/2020 18:03:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

A very Good Evening to you from the Fallings Park, Bushbury, Low Hill & Oxley Neighbourhood Policing Team,

An opportunity has arisen via our partners at Wolverhampton City Council for local residents to have their say regarding a proposed extension to a ban on drinking in public places within the Borough.

A city wide Public Space Protection Order has been in place since March 2017. This P.S.P.O (Public Space Protection Order) has given the Police the powers to stop individuals who have been found to be in possession of, & consuming alcohol in public places. In instances of non-compliance officers have been able to ask people to surrender their alcohol, especially if it has been found that individuals in possession on alcohol have caused Ant-Social Behviour or if there is a potential for Anti-Social Behaviour.

The new proposals are subject to a four week period of consultation which s now underway. You may have your say by visiting https/bit.lv/27GYhO. We would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to do so as your opinion & views are important to both us & our partners, in turn your input would be gratefully received.

Should you require any further information, or any clarification then please do not to hesitate to contact either myself or my colleagues & we would be more than happy to oblige. Once again we would encourage you to take part in the four week consultation as your views & opinions really do matter to us.

Wishing you all a very good evening.

Kindest Regards,

Shaun Evans (31535)
Fallings Park, Bushbury, Low Hill & Oxley Neighbourhood Policing Team.
