Catalytic Converter thefts

Alert message sent 14/05/2020 19:45:00

Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Police are asking motorists to remain vigilant after a number of vehicles had their catalytic converters stolen in the last couple of days.

Incidents were reported in the Thurmaston, Oadby and Scraptoft areas of Leicester.

We would advise people to park their vehicles in well-lit areas, preferably on their driveways up against a wall or door, so the catalytic converter is not easily accessible.

Anyone who has been the victim of a similar offence and hasn’t reported it to the police is asked to do so.

If you see any person tampering with a vehicle please call 999.

Further advice on how to reduce your chances of becoming a victim can be found here ➡️ https://crowd.in/ozmRDq
