Local Priorities For Halifax North

In Calderdale local partnership priorities are set at the six weekly Safer, Cleaner, Greener meeting. This meeting brings partners from Police, Fire, Health, Calderdale council and local councillors, together to tackle local issues.
 
Each Safer Cleaner Greener area has a lead Police Sergeant and Police officer who leads on problem solving. They are supported by other officers, PCSO’s, Police staff and partnership resources.

Work in partnership to keep people safe - engage, explain, encourage and enforce the current COVID 19 legislation
  • Through a joint approach to deployment of resources
  • Through clear promotion of the government guidelines
  • Focusing on areas of high footfall

To tackle an increase of theft from motor vehicle in the Halifax north area of Illingworth and Ovenden
  • By tackling and disrupting offenders
  • Proactive patrols of the area
  • Crime prevention work to target those who may be vulnerable to crime
  • Promotion of crime prevention messages

To tackle an increase in shed burglaries in the Bradshaw, Ovenden and Illingworth area
  • Proactive patrols of the area
  • Targeted Business crime prevention surveys
  • Working with our partners in Housing, OMI and our Neighbourhood Support Officer to delivery crime prevention advice
* Due to the current COVID 19 restrictions, priorities are been set based on concerns raised with police and may not have gone through the existing Safer, Cleaner, Greener process.
