Information sent on behalf of Leicestershire Police

Hope you have a god VE Day. Have fun and try to make the most of it during these difficult times.

Please take a look at the government guidelines at https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus to ensure you are following them and keeping each other safe.

This week I have attended some locations in Burbage following complaints and spoken to residents about pavement parking. It has been a polite reminder to people not to block public access and force residents to walk on the road. Please ensure you leave enough space for a mobility scooter or buggy to get past. Although this is especially important at the moment due to more people out and about, this is also something to continue with going forward.

Following overnight patrols in Burbage, a vehicle was stopped and seized by officers in the early hours of the morning along the Brookside area.

I also have a selection of keys that have been handed in at the Millennium Hall over recent weeks and months. If you have lost any in the village please send me a description of them.

Whilst crime figures for Burbage continue to be very good, could I ask people to spend ten minutes to have a look at the following link https://www.police.uk/pu/advice-crime-prevention/

Here you will find loads of advice and prevention methods around crimes such as residential burglary, theft of motor vehicle and cyber aware amongst many other subjects.
Please continue to report suspicious behaviour in your area. This information helps us build a picture of crime and those involved. Please remember not to leave doors unlocked, jewellery/money lying about. Lock vehicles including the windows and remove any items.

Always set alarms if you have them. Remember to lock garden gates/posts if you have them, if not try blocking in your vehicle with the “less expensive” vehicle. Reverse vans up to walls/fences and try to empty out the tools.

Let’s try and do as much as possible to keep the crime low. If there is anything I can support with please get in touch.

Stay safe and thank you for being a member of Burbage Neighbourhood Link.

Darren.
