East beat update

Alert message sent 30/04/2020 16:16:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Hi there – my name is Tom Bark and I am one of the PCSO’s for Basingstoke.
I hope everyone receiving this alert is well.

It has been a little while since our last update to yourselves, although you may have seen some from Sergeant Taylor.

Throughout the past few weeks you will hopefully have seen myself or some of my colleagues cycling in and around your area as part of our patrols.

You are all still residents in our quietest area but we have still seen a reduction in crime in your area. We have although had increased calls with regards to antisocial behaviour and COVID-19 regulation breaks.

If you do witness there are ways online to report which you can do here https://www.hampshire.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/
However in an emergency where a crime is in progress please continue to call 999.

Do you know someone that may be venerable and need a little more help in this tough time?

Please do show them towards our Community Hubs. They can provide people with food shopping, prescriptions collections or even welfare checks. Here are a list of your local hubs.
St Marys Church, Old Basing, this covers Old Basing, Lychpit, Mapledurwell, Newnham etc, Heather Leppard - 07745 731729 revheatherleppard@gmail.com is your point of contact for this one.
Christ Church Chineham covers Chineham and Sherfield park and Michaela Riley (Spotlight) 01256 242330 / admin@spotlightuk.org is your point of contact here.
We are aware of local Facebook pages sharing pictures showing people out late at night. Can advise you to double check you have locked your cars, houses and outbuildings, please don’t leave anything of value in your car. Currently we have had no reports of any thefts from cars our outbuildings happening but this is just to inform you in the hope that we can prevent any future crimes.
If you wish to email me personally about a query: tom.bark@hampshire.pnn.police.uk
