News and appeals

57 arrests were made during the week across Arun and Chichester.  Offences include:  Wanted on warrant, domestic assault, actual bodily harm, criminal damage, possession of a knife, harassment, fraud, affray, shoplifting, grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, driving whilst disqualified, driving under the influence of drugs, burglary and assault on Police.
Increase in assaults on Sussex police officer during Covid-19 pandemic

There has been a rise in the number of reports.
Police ask the public to stop and think before making unnecessary journeys

Crime summary


Marine Drive West, Aldwick – Overnight on Tuesday 21 April there was an attempt break to a beach hut.    Serial 1425 of 22/04. 

On Wednesday 22 April between 12.00 pm and 5.00 pm another beach hut was broken into; loose change, first aid kit and hand tools stolen. Serial 0552 if 23/04.

Halnaker Gardens, Aldwick – Overnight on Wednesday 22 April a vehicle was broken into and an Alexa was stolen.   Serial 0259 or 23/04.

Tennyson Road, Marine – On Thursday 23 April during late evening West Sussex Fire & Rescue attended a deliberate ignition to a bin.   Serial 1831 of 23/04.

Littlehampton and surrounding areas

Dappers Lane, Angmering – Overnight on Monday 20 April five sheds were broken into and a Junior Snake Bow, 15 arrows and a box of spanners were stolen. Damage was also caused to the sheds.    Serial 0451 of 22/04. 

Yapton Lane, Walberton – On Friday 24 April a unit was broken into; tools and a packet of red gloves were stolen.   Serial 0155 of 25/04.  

North End Road, Yapton – Between 3.00 pm (Friday 17 April) and 12.00 pm (Saturday 18 April) the window was smashed to a vehicle; a scarf and paperwork were stolen.  Serial 1281 of 20/04.
