St Georges Day and Clap for Carers

Alert message sent 23/04/2020 16:52:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

We’ll be out in our communities tonight showing our appreciation for our key workers and the NHS.

Since the government announced its stay at home measures last month, 8pm on Thursday evenings has become the time for people across the UK to celebrate the people who are tackling this virus and supporting the country during these tough times.

Over recent weeks, there have been some lovely scenes at hospitals across Derbyshire, with our officers showing their appreciation for those who work there. We know that this has been really appreciated by our friends and colleagues at these hospitals.

Tonight, our officers have moved their displays of gratitude out into the communities we serve to say thank you to you all for staying at home - and in recognition of all key workers during this difficult time.

On St George’s Day, whilst you can’t have the celebration you would normally want to, you can however show the pride of your country your appreciation by joining in with us all at 8pm outside your front door.
