Nuisance quad bike seized.

Alert message sent 22/04/2020 04:10:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

Have you seen this quad bike flying around Bulwell and Bestwood this week?

Due to a big concern from local residents, Bulwell Neighbourhood Beat Team have been trying to tackle the issue of nuisance vehicles on the roads, parks and pavements around Bulwell, Highbury Vale and Rise Park.

Fortunately as part of their patrols they were able to stop the rider of this Yamaha Quad bike and check the vehicle over. According to the rider his journey was an essential one, yet he didn't feel getting insurance was essential.

For this reason the bike has been seized and impounded with the driver having to pay the costs for removal and storage of the vehicle as well as facing penalty points on his licence and a fine.

We appreciate that this rider is one of many that choose not to use their vehicle legally. We will continue proactively check all vehicles over the next few weeks to make sure that they are taxed, insured Mot'd and being used safely and only in areas where they are permitted to be ridden.
