Local Police Detain Offenders

Coventry  Police have  found drugs and cash inside a stolen car after being led on a chase through the streets of Coventry.

Officers spotted the navy blue Ford Kuga, which had been stolen in a burglary in Coventry on Friday (March 27) and was running on false plates, on the border of the city.

The pursuit ended when the vehicle then spun out at the junction of Brays Lane and Binley Road, when the driver made off on foot and was chased by officers into an area behind Empress Buildings.  The driver ran up some steps leading to the flats above the shops and jumped between two building, followed by the officers who were able to detain him.  A passenger was also located and detained nearby after being tracked by a police dog.

The vehicle was found to be a confirmed stolen car from Coventry and a quantity of cash and drugs were also located.  The driver was arrested on suspicion of the theft of the vehicle and offences relating to the drugs,
