Notification of major gas replacement works in the Corrennie Drive area of Edinburgh

Alert message sent 20/03/2020 20:31:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

The following information is being circulated on behalf of SGN

As you are aware, SGN manages the network that distributes natural and green gas to 5.9 million homes and businesses across Scotland and the south of England. We also provide the gas emergency service in these areas.

We’re investing £912,000 to upgrade our gas network in the Corrennie Drive area of Edinburgh.

This essential project involves replacing our old gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply for the local area for many years to come.

In agreement with the City of Edinburgh Council and local authorities, our work in the Corrennie Drive area of Edinburgh will begin on Monday 6 April and last approximately two weeks.

During this particular section of the project it will be necessary to close Cluny Gardens between Comiston Road and Hermitage Gardens to ensure everyone’s safety.

Local diversion routes will also be in operation in:
Braid Avenue
Cluny Drive
Comiston Road
Hermitage Terrace
Nile Grove
Braid Avenue

There will also be a requirement to use temporary signals from time to time. These may cause delays during peak periods.

Parking suspensions will also be in place for the duration of our essential work, although access to driveways will always be maintained where possible.

We’ll be working Monday to Friday between 08:00 – 16:15hrs and weekend work where required.

If you have any specific enquiries about this project, please call us on 0131 469 1728 during office hours (8am to 4pm) or 0800 912 1700 and our customer service team will be happy to help.

Please feel free to share this information with anyone else who may be impacted by our work. All local residents and businesses have been notified.

We know that this is a busy area and wish to assure you that work will progress as quickly as possible and we’ll be doing everything we can to limit delays and disruption.

I’d like to thank you in advance for your support and understanding during this time.
