Residential Burglaries: 24th-29th February

Good Afternoon,

The following incidents of residential burglary have taken place in Selly Oak / Selly Park since 24th February:

- BOURNBROOK ROAD: between 1830hrs on 24/02 and 0015hrs on 25/02, offenders four sets of car keys
after gaining entry via a rear ground floor window. Three of the vehicles were then stolen. A laptop was
also stolen. 20BW/50072E/20

- WARWARDS LANE: at 1130hrs on 25/02 offender(s) gained access to a property by snapping the lock
on a rear door by unknown means. It transpires that the address was a cannabis factory, and a number
of cannabis plants were stolen. It is unknown how the offender(s) made their escape. 20BW/51258H/20

- FIRST AVENUE: between 0001-0700hrs on 26/02, offender(s) cut the padlock to a garden shed before
stealing a Trek hybrid bike and two segways. They then made good their escape. 20BW/52608P/20

- HUBERT ROAD: (attempt burglary) between 2145-2150hrs on 27/02, an offender was seen to look
through windows and try the door handle of a property. When disturbed, they ran off in the direction of
Raddlebarn Road. 20BW/54136G/20

- GRISTHORPE ROAD: at 0706hrs on 27/02, offender(s) forced entry to the front door of a property
before stealing car keys, a wallet and a tablet. A black Dacia Duster was then stolen from outside the
property before making good their escape. 20BW/53446W/20

- HUBERT ROAD: between 1900hrs on 27/02 and 0030hrs on 28/02 the offender(s) forced the ground
floor rear window to the property (no obvious damage), stealing two laptops before making good their
escape. 20BW/54653H/20

Selly Oak NHT are conducting patrols on foot and in vehicles across the ward in order to identify insecure properties, and look out for potential offenders. Our work is supported by a number of Street Watch groups, who do a great job of volunteering their time to conduct walks where they live, feeding any relevant information back to the police. Additionally, the team are conducting targeted burglary patrols during overtime shifts which run into the early hours.
