Crowborough police station consultation

Alert message sent 25/02/2020 16:46:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch

This message is being sent by Sussex Neighbourhood Watch to residents in the Crowborough area, at the the request of the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner.

In December, Sussex Police were granted permission to convert the old Town Hall into a new, more modern, police station for Crowborough. This space will soon become the new police station, replacing the current Victorian building which was in poor repair, no longer fit for purpose and out of the town centre.

The Police & Crime Commissioner, Katy Bourne, would like to consult residents about this plan. This is your opportunity to let her have your feedback, through the survey below.

Mrs Bourne comments: “I know that residents appreciate seeing a police presence in their area, and feel reassured to know that officers are still working in the heart of their community.

“I also believe it is vitally important to keep residents informed of what is happening in their local area. So, I’m keen to see how technology could be used where possible to provide information about policing and other local services, even during the hours when the station itself is closed.

“The creation of a new police facility gives me a unique opportunity to consult. How would residents like to see the building used? What services do they want it to offer? What do police officers, PCSOs and front office staff think?

“I’m looking forward to visiting Crowborough soon and hearing their thoughts for myself.”

The survey can be found online here: www.sussex-pcc.gov.uk/Crowborough

It will be available online, and printed copies will be available at local venues including Crowborough Library and the Freedom Leisure Centre.

Residents have until Friday 27th March 2020 to have their say. Any further comments can be sent to pcc@sussex.pcc.gov.uk.
