Registration plate theft Erdington 11 February 2020

Alert message sent 14/02/2020 09:23:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Good morning,
At around 19.15hrs on the car park of pure gym on Wednesday in Erdington registration plates were taken from a vehicle.
There are many reasons for this such as petrol forecourt theft, general robbery and masking stolen vehicles.
There are measures that can be taken to make the plates more secure on your vehicle.
Anti lock nuts are available from Halfords for £3.49 or online from Amazon or Euro car parts for around £6.49.
Once these are screwed into the plate they are impossible to unscrew which makes them more secure with less chance of them being stolen. This is a lot less hassle and cheaper than having to purchase new plates for your vehicle and are highly recommended.
Any suspicious activity can be reported on 101 or 999 or alternatively the web chat facility by logging onto the West Midlands Police website.
Thanks for your time and have a good weekend.
