SGN Gas Network Upgrade – Skelmorlie
As you may be aware, SGN manages the network that distributes natural and green gas to 5.9 million homes and businesses across Scotland and the south of England. We also provide the gas emergency service in these areas.
I’m writing to let you know we will shortly be starting our project to upgrade the gas network in Shore Road, Skelmorlie. This essential work involves the replacement of old, metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply.
Following discussions with Scotland Transerv, the initial stages of our project will start on 24 February and last approximately seven weeks. Each phase is described below.
Phase one - approximately three weeks
On 24 February, we’ll begin working in Shore Road between Eglinton Terrace and Shuma Court.
During this phase, to ensure everyone’s safety, temporary three-way traffic lights will be in place at each junction.
Phase two – approximately four weeks
From 16 March, we’ll continue working in Shore Road between Shuma Court and Redcliffe Manor.
During this phase, temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place in Shore Road.
We’ll be posting regular updates on our website https://one.network/?112632986 and using social media and traffic bulletins to keep residents and motorists informed.
Please feel free to share this information with your stakeholders and anyone else who may be impacted by our work.
If you have any other enquiries about this project, please call project manager Grahame Otto on 07717 430 606 during office hours (8am to 4.30pm) or Customer Service on 0800 912 1700 outside these times.
