Crime Update - Feb 2020

Alert message sent 09/02/2020 16:48:00

Information sent on behalf of Humberside Police

Good afternoon!

Quick crime update in relation to the Avenue Ward area for 01/02/2020 to 09/02/2020.

We have seen an increase in theft from motor vehicles once again, tools stolen from work vehicles within Pearson Park, money taken from a vehicle on Margaret Street which had been left in the centre console, dashcam's stolen from vehicles parked on Alexandra Road and Richmond Street and a handbag stolen from a vehicle parked on Cave Street.   In relation to the last two juveniles have been charged and summonsed to court for that offence.

Please, do NOT leave ANYTHING of any value on show in your vehicle as it is just too tempting for criminals.  Try to get into the habit of removing dashcams and their mounts.  Do NOT hide them in the glovebox, take them with you or indoors when you leave your vehicle.  It takes literally a second to smash a car window and grab whatever's left inside.

Please share this message with friends, family and neighbours, thank you.
