Vehicle interference

Alert message sent 18/01/2020 10:17:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Between 12:00 on the 11th of January 2020 and 06:00 on the 12th of January 2020, a vehicle was attempted to be entered in
Beechwood Avenue, Earlsdon, Coventry, West Midlands.
The vehicle was not entered, and nothing appears to have been stolen, however the offender tried to gain access to the vehicle by drilling a hole in the front offside door, near the lock, damaging the vehicle,.
Police are appealing for witnesses or residents with cctv in the area to come forward.
Several cars have been stolen in the city in recent months without the car keys being used; this may be due to cars having keyless entry systems which can be exploited or from central locking systems not operating correctly. Officers recently spend some time on patrol trying car doors and several were found to be unlocked – it is always advisable to check that vehicles are secure.
