Alert message sent 14/01/2020 14:53:00

Information sent on behalf of Cambridgeshire Constabulary

Good Afternoon, Hemingfords District Members –

Here is our weekly summary of offences and incidents affecting your community, reported to police during the period 7th to 13th January:

B1040 Hilton – Police were notified of a road traffic incident that happened on the B1040 at Hilton on Wednesday morning, 8th January. A car had left the road and crashed on to the verge, but fortunately no-one was hurt and no police involvement was required. (Ref CC-08012020-0116)

West Brook Area, Hilton – A black Audi car was stolen from the driveway of its owner’s house in the West Brook area of Hilton at some time overnight on Thursday 9th / Friday 10th January. (Ref 35/2319/20)

Madeley Court, Hemingford Grey – A house and garden shed on Madeley Court were broken into at some time between Saturday and Sunday mornings, 11th and 12th January. The house is undergoing renovation and was empty, so it is not thought that anything was stolen from inside although wooden boarding at a door was torn down. The shed door was found to have been forced open and items from inside were left strewn across the lawn, but it is uncertain if anything was stolen. Enquiries at neighbouring houses have been made by the victims, and investigations are continuing. (Ref 35/2879/20)

Madeley Court, Hemingford Grey – The garage of a second house on Madeley Court, Hemingford Grey, was also targeted overnight on Saturday 11th / Sunday 12th January. A side door on the garage was forced open, but it is not thought that anything was stolen from inside. No-one has so far reported noticing anything suspicious in the area at the time. (Ref 35/2882/20)
