Alert message sent 13/01/2020 20:32:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

The following information is being circulated on behalf of SGN

As you may be aware, SGN manages the network that distributes natural and green gas to 5.9 million homes and businesses across Scotland and the south of England. We also provide the gas emergency service in these areas.

I’m writing to let you know we will shortly be starting the first of two projects to upgrade the gas network in Kilmacolm. This essential work involves the replacement of old, metal gas mains with new plastic pipe to ensure a continued safe and reliable gas supply.

Following discussions with Inverclyde Council our project will start on 30 January 2020 and last approximately nine weeks. We’ll be carrying out the work over two phases to help minimise disruption. Each phase is described below.

Phase one – approximately six weeks
On Thursday 30 January, we'll begin working in Belmont Road between Myreton Avenue and Lochwinnoch Road. Our work will be taking place on the footpaths however, to ensure everyone’s safety we will install temporary three-way traffic lights when we reach the junction of Belmont Road and Lochwinnoch Road. These will be in place for approximately two weeks.

Phase two – approximately three weeks
From Thursday 12 March, we'll be working in Churchill Road between Belmont Road and Myreton Avenue. There will be no traffic management required for this phase.

We’ll be posting regular updates on our website https://one.network/?113017570 and using social media and traffic bulletins to keep residents and motorists informed.

Please feel free to share this information with anyone else who may be impacted by our work.

If you have any other enquiries about this project, please call project manager Gary Anderson on 07896 946 477 during office hours (8am to 4.30pm) or Customer Service on 0800 912 1700 outside these times.
