Two charged with possession of class A drugs

Two men have been charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs after officers stopped a car in Derby on Thursday.

Javan Morgan, 21, of St Chads Road, Rose Hill and Salim Ahmed, 21, of Cheadle Close, Littleover were charged and remanded on Friday 20 December.

Mr Ahmed was also charged with dangerous driving and failing to stop.

The men were arrested on Thursday evening (19 December) after being stopped by police in Drage Street at around 11pm.

A large quantity of what is believed to be cocaine was found in the car and nearby, as well as a large amount of cash.

The pair appeared at Derby Crown Court on Saturday morning.

Mr Morgan was remanded into prison custody and Mr Ahmed has been released on bail.

They will next appear at Derby Crown on 20 January 2020.
