Lost item returned to a grateful Erdington resident

Alert message sent 15/12/2019 19:48:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

'Tis the season to be jolly! A bit of good news. Recently a PCSO in Smethwick Police Station (Keiron) emailed PCSO Haskins of the Erdington Neighbourhood team, reporting a ladies purse had been handed to him on Soho Road, 2 weeks previous. Attempts to contact the owner of said purse were fruitless, as he was unable to locate a phone number. PCSO in Erdington arranged for address to be carded, with details for the resident of how to contact PCSO at Smethwick Police Station. Within a few days, the delighted resident, "Winifred", was happily reunited with her purse and its contents. This small act illustrates that team working across Neighbourhood Policing Units, and the desire to reunite residents with lost items, pays dividends. Winifred did not have to cancel and re-order important documents, costing her time, money and the upset. Merry Christmas, all.
