Former Neighbourhood Warden becomes PCSO for the Clay Cross area

Alert message sent 12/12/2019 13:08:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

A former Neighbourhood Warden has become the latest PCSO on patrol around the Clay Cross area.
Police Community Support Officer Jason Ashton is the new face on the local Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Jason first got a taste for working with the community as a Neighbourhood Warden for Mansfield and Ashfield District Council, where he worked as part of a team set up to work with the police to target antisocial behaviour and environmental crime.
He then worked as a Senior Customer Service Adviser, managing a team and implementing systems, but found he missed the outdoors and community work and took the opportunity to become a PCSO with Derbyshire Constabulary.
Since joining the team at Clay Cross, having completed his training at our force headquarters, Jason has been busy getting to know the area, local partner agencies and community members.
Outside of work Jason plays league football for his local team, and enjoys DJ-ing for his family and friends at celebrations and parties.
PCSO Ashton said: “I hope to bring my experience as a Neighbourhood Warden to the role, as there are some similarities. I’ve got to admit that I’m really enjoying getting back out into the community, working as part of a team with our partnership agencies to hopefully make a difference to our local residents and the community of Clay Cross.
“I’ve found most people really appreciate a policing presence in the neighbourhood and I’m pleased to be part of that. If there are any concerns or issues you think we could help with then please contact us and if you see me out and about in the area, don’t hesitate to stop and say hello.”
