Reminder - New Board Members Required to Shape the Future of South Division Neighbourhood Watch

Dear Neighbourhood Watch Supporter,

The Derbyshire South Division Neighbourhood Watch Association wish to recruit a strong leadership team to build upon the existing formidable brand of Neighbourhood Watch and a team that can support the organisation in building a transformation programme to develop and diversify the charity to meet the needs of communities today. This is more important than ever now that South Division are a registered charity (Charity No 1185657).

Our objective of the charity is;
The promotion of good citizenship and the efficiency of the police service in Derby City, South Derbyshire and Erewash by:

I. Enabling public participation in the prevention and detection of crime;

II. Promoting public support for the work of the police service and other partners in the protection of people and property from, and the prevention of, crime.

What would I be expected to do as part of my role?
You would be expected to lead on at least one project, giving feedback at quarterly review meetings plus attend any other relevant executive meetings.

What Skills will I need?
We are seeking well organised, proactive, solution focused individuals who have:

• Strong people and communication skills.
• Self motivation and are proactive and able to prioritise to achieve deadlines.
• Ideally experience in community/charity work.
• Ability to lead from the front to help the Derbyshire South Division Neighbourhood Watch        Association fulfil its ambitious goals in being relevant to support the police by working in   partnership with a range of agencies, and third sector, to improve community cohesion and   reduce crime.

Please note that membership is open to both registered members and co-ordinators whom reside in Derby City, South Derbyshire & Erewash or anybody who wishes to become involved in Neighbourhood Watch in Derbyshire. Applications for new representatives closes on Monday 9th December with the first meeting of the board arranged for Saturday 14th December.
