Appeal for information following a distraction burglary in Horspath Road

Thames Valley Police is appealing for information following a distraction burglary in Horspath Road, Lye Valley.
Between 1pm and 1.30pm on Thursday (24/10) a man knocked on the door of an elderly woman’s house. He said he was there to paint the guttering and was allowed access to the house.
He then asked for money to buy parts. The victim went upstairs to get cash from her purse, once the man had the cash he asked if he could use the toilet and went upstairs.
The victim later checked her purse and discovered an additional amount of cash had been stolen.
The offender is described as a white man, about 5ft 6ins tall and slim. He was wearing a felt cap.
