Information sent on behalf of Surrey Police

We’re appealing for drivers in the Shepperton and Chertsey areas to remain vigilant after several reports of objects being fired at cars on Sunday night (20 October).
A man was driving a blue Mercedes from Shepperton to Chertsey around 10.15pm near the Kingfisher pub when he heard a crack and noticed that his rear nearside window had been smashed.
Police also received a report of an object being fired at a Smart Forfour around 9.45pm near Littleton Sailing Club in Shepperton, which smashed the nearside front passenger window.
The driver of a Fiat 500 also reported that an object had been thrown at his vehicle, with no damage caused, in the same area around the same time.
It is believed that a catapult may have been used. Thankfully no one was injured.
Anyone who saw anything suspicious is urged to contact us as soon as possible on 101, quoting crime reference number PR/45190111525. Alternatively, if you do not wish to leave your name, call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
