Local Burglar Jailed

Alert message sent 19/09/2019 17:02:00

Information sent on behalf of West Yorkshire Police

Local man Joshua Hyde has been sentenced to 32 months in prison at Bradford Crown Court after he admitted a string of crimes including two night-time house burglaries at occupied homes in Sowerby Bridge and Hebden Bridge.

During his crime spree, Hyde also targeted business premises in Hebden Bridge where he stole cake.
Local officers were quickly deployed to the Hebden Bridge incidents and Hyde was arrested nearby.

The crimes were investigated by our dedicated team of Burglary detectives.

A full court update can be found on the Halifax Courier website.

Jailing him over a video link to HMP Leeds the Recorder of Bradford Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC said he had to identify an overall sentence which was appropriate without offending the victims who were already traumatised by Hyde’s crimes.
