Begging Operation

Alert message sent 29/08/2019 19:59:00

Information sent on behalf of Notts Police

As part of our joint work alongside Community Protection, we have taken part in an operation in and around Sherwood and Carrington in relation to the on-going issues with begging.
Both Police and Community Protection have been working together to target begging and gather further evidence to take action.

If you witness any begging please call 101 with any locations and descriptions, this will enable us to visit and ascertain details and offer any further support they may need.

Some beggars may be rough sleeping. You can contact local homeless charities or outreach services if you have any concerns about anyone who may be rough sleeping.
Framework’s Street Outreach Team are local to the area and can be contacted on 0800 066 5356 or text SOT to 80800 followed by your message.

There are other ways that members of the public can provide help and support such as making a donation to a homeless charity, engage in conversation with beggars or rough sleepers or even volunteering time to charities.
