Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

The following information was recently circulated by Police Scotland

We are appealing for information regarding three incidents of suspected hare coursing that were reported Sunday 25th August 2019.

One incident was reported near to Athelstaneford, one incident occurred in a field near to Gifford Golf Club and a third report was received of a group of people that were seen within a field with dogs near to Lochhouses, Whitekirk.

We are keen to speak to anyone who saw a grey Nissan X-Trail and a blue Subaru Forrester, either parked up near to fields or possibly driving with lurcher dogs in the vehicle.

On Police attending the incident at Lochhouses, a vehicle drove off at speed and was soon lost to sight, having left three dogs running loose in the field. Two of the dogs have since been recovered by Police and enquiries are continuing.

If anyone saw anything suspicious in those areas, saw any vehicles matching the description above or have any information regarding these incidents, then please contact Police on 101 quoting incident number 1712 of 25/08/2019.
