Community Safety - Dementia

Alert message sent 09/08/2019 15:30:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

If you, family members or friends are living with dementia you may find the  PURPLE ALERT app helpful.

It is free, community minded, can help safe guard people with dementia and give reassurance to family and carers

It is designed by people living with dementia and carers, Alzheimer Scotland staff, Police Scotland, Social Work, Dementia Friends Scotland, Health and Social Care Partnerships and telecare services.

Should a person with dementia go missing app users are alerted, it is hoped this will increase the likely hood the person will be found quickly

PURPLE ALERT would like a community of users across Scotland in the hope the app will be used by a large percentage of the adult population across all sectors of the community – businesses, voluntary organisations and private individuals.

The PURPLE ALERT website gives you lots of additional information about the app including step by step guides on how to register someone who is missing and what to do if you see or find them.
