Alert after reports of people trying car doors in the Ashgate area

Our officers in Chesterfield are reminding residents to be alert and security conscious following a number of recent reports of someone trying car door handles to see if they are open.

There have been reports of this suspicious activity during the night and in the early hours during the past week in the Ashgate area.

We are urging people to always check that their vehicles are locked, and to never leave valuables in cars or vans, especially in sight.
