Warning of heavy rain

Alert message sent 12/06/2019 13:29:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

Dear Citizen

Our colleagues in the Resilience Division of Scottish Government, the Met Office and the Scottish Environment Protection Agency have activated their warning systems in anticipation of heavy rain expected tonight and tomorrow for parts of south east Scotland.

They anticipate that from the early hours of Thursday significant impacts are likely from river flooding in the eastern Borders and the Lothians to the east of Edinburgh.  Typical flooding impacts may include travel disruption, flooding of properties and infrastructure.  In the wider Lothian and Borders area there is a lower likelihood of significant impacts, however some areas are still likely to experience heavier than normal rainfall.

For additional information see below:
  • The Ready Scotland campaign encourages the public to visit Readyscotland.org for information.
