A man was assaulted in Salisbury yesterday and we are appealing for witnesses.

The incident happened shortly after 4pm on Monday 10 June on the corner of the Market Place near to Allum & Sidaway Jewellers.

A 30-year-old local man was punched to the head and face a number of times causing him to fall to the ground. He was then kicked as he was on the floor.

The suspect is described as white, approximately 5 ft 6 to 5 ft 7 inches tall, with brown short hair. He was clean shaven and was wearing a navy blue hooded top, with a red and white t-shirt underneath and dark trousers. He walked off with another man in the direction of the Market Place public toilets.

The second man, who stood and watched the assault take place, is described as white and of a similar height, with some stubble on his face. He was wearing a grey tracksuit.

We would like to hear from any witnesses to the assault.
