Major gas replacement works in the Cramond Road North area of Edinburgh

Alert message sent 11/06/2019 10:46:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

The following information is being circulated on behalf of SGN

I’m writing to give you an update on our project to upgrade the gas network in Cramond Road North, area Edinburgh.
On Monday 1 July we’ll begin working in Cramond Road South between Quality Street and Lauriston Farm Road. For everyone’s safety, temporary traffic lights will be in place at the Quality Street roundabout junction. Once our work at this junction is complete we’ll head northbound towards Cramond Road North. When this happens, we’ll reduce our temporary traffic lights to two-way. Our traffic lights will be manually controlled during peak hours to minimise inconvenience as much as possible.
We know that this is a busy area and will cause delays during peak periods. By planning this to coincide with the school holidays we’re making every effort to reduce further disruption and minimise inconvenience.
We’ll be posting regular updates on our website https://www.sgn.co.uk/Roadworks/ and using social media and traffic bulletins to keep residents and motorists informed.
We understand that people can get frustrated by roadworks. However, the new plastic pipe has a minimum lifespan of 80 years. This means that when the work is complete, local residents will continue to enjoy the benefits of a safe and reliable gas supply for years to come.

Please feel free to share this information with anyone else who may be impacted by our work.
Thank you for your continued support while we carry out this work.
