Bolsover students get insight into careers with the police

Alert message sent 15/05/2019 15:14:00

Information sent on behalf of Derbyshire Constabulary

Local Safer Neighbourhood officers have been giving students in Bolsover an insight into roles in the police service.

They visited The Bolsover School to give a careers talk to more than 50 pupils between school years seven and 11, who were interested in a public services role.

There was an opportunity to watch a video about Derbyshire Constabulary and then PCSO Suzanne Fox gave a presentation about different roles in the police, how to join as a police officer and the qualifications which are needed.

PCSO Fox said: “It was a good chance for us to share more about the work that we do and give younger people an idea of potential opportunities for future careers in the police service.

“We were invited to talk by the school following a similar visit last year, and I found it to prove really positive in terms of engagement. We hope to be able to visit other schools in our area to give a similar input.”
