SECTION 60 STOP AND SEARCH

Alert message sent 14/03/2019 22:02:00

Information sent on behalf of West Mids Police

Dear Citizen,

Over the last few weeks we have been working hard enforcing the Section 60 stop and search powers which have been granted to us due to the tragic death of three young people in a two week period.

Tonight, we stop and searched over 20 people in the Alum Rock area of Birmingham, and have achieved some fantastic results.

If you see anyone with a knife, or know a young person who is carrying one please report them to us. There is a very high risk that young person will be the victim of knife crime, and we can take steps which can save a life.

Report urgently via 999, or non-urgent enquiries can be reported via 101 or online.

Follow us on twitter for daily updates on what we are doing as a neighbourhood team in your area.

Thank you for your assistance and community intelligence - together we can make our community a safer place to live.
