UPDATE on Essential Gas Upgrade Works in the Linden Lea area of Hamilton

Alert message sent 25/01/2019 11:04:00

Information sent on behalf of Neighbourhood Watch Scotland

The following information is being circulated on behalf of SGN

As you may be aware, SGN manages the network that distributes natural and green gas to 5.9 million homes and businesses across Scotland and the south of England. We also provide the gas emergency service in these areas.

Further to previous correspondence, I would like to inform you of an update to the traffic management in phase three as highlighted below.

Phase 1 – approximately one week
On Monday 18 February, we will begin work in Burnbank Road between number 40 and number 20.
During this phase, to ensure everyone’s safety, we will be closing the layby outside the properties to allow us to excavate on the highway. No traffic management will be required at the stage.

Phase 2 – approximately four weeks
From Monday 25 February, we will continue to work in Burnbank Road between number 40 and the entrance to the tanning salon. A layby closure and temporary two-way traffic lights will be in place to allow us to excavate and install our new pipe. The temporary two-way traffic lights will be removed after week three.

Phase 3 – approximately two weeks
From Monday 18 March, we’ll be working in Burnbank Road from the tanning salon heading towards the church at Clydesdale Street. The layby closure between number 40 and the tanning salon on Burnbank Road will be reopened.
To ensure everyone’s safety we will install three-way temporary traffic lights, plus a pedestrian phase, at the junction with Burnbank Road and Clydesdale Street to allow a partial lane closure.

We’ll be posting regular updates on our website https://www.sgn.co.uk/Roadworks/Scotland-projects/ and using social media and traffic bulletins to keep residents and motorists informed.

Please feel free to share this information with anyone else who may be impacted by our work.

If you have any other enquiries about this project, please call project manager John Gilluley on 07805 766 350 during office hours (8am to 4.30pm) or on 0800 912 1700 outside these times.
