Sharrow Neighbourhood Team

Alert message sent 20/01/2019 16:41:00

Information sent on behalf of South Yorkshire Police

Good Afternoon,

This is a message from the new neighbourhood team Sergeant for the Sharrow & Abbeydale area, Ross Greenwood.

I have been with the team for around a week now and have come from a background of neighbourhood policing, previously working in the Barnsley area and have been involved in a number of community projects whilst in those previous posts.

I will hopefully have the opportunity to meet most of you in the near future and will be attending local community meetings to introduce myself to residents. I have a fantastic team of enthusiastic and dedicated Police Constables and Police Community Support Officers who are keen to improve and act upon issues in your community.

So far, in just the space of a week on the team my staff have conducted a number of proactive patrols resulting in:
- The use of stop/search powers being used leading to an amount of controlled drugs being seized and large quantities of cash
- 3 cars have been seized for a variety of offences
- A number of arrests have been made for offences including drunk & disorderly, suspected illegal immigrants, obstructing a Police Officer and possession of controlled drugs; as-well as people wanted for failing to appear at court.

I will be in touch periodically to keep you updated on the progress of our team, but please do keep in touch with us to make us aware of any emerging issues which we can assist you with. You can reply directly to this message, contact us via Facebook (Sheffield South West NHP), or Tweet us @SheffSW_NHP.

Finally, if you are holding any community events or meetings which we might not be aware of, please do get in touch with me or my team.

Kind Regards,

Ross Greenwood
