Possible Rogue Tradespersons in your area

Alert message sent 11/01/2019 16:39:00

Information sent on behalf of Thames Valley Police

The Princes Risborough Neighbourhood Team would like residents in the Naphill and surrounding areas to be vigilant of persons who may be claiming to be on your property to unblock gutters as a rouse to committing other offences.

One particular resident on Chapel Lane, Naphill was visited twice on Saturday 29th December 2018 and again on Wednesday 2nd January 2019 where a white male with an Irish accent claimed to be in the area having just worked at a property nearby cleaning out gutters and suggesting he could do the same for them.

The resident declined his services on both occasions and made some enquiries locally and was unable to find any other residents who had been visited or had taken up his services. Suspicious? We think so.

Unfortunately, the information we have is limited to just that of the male being white and having an Irish accent.

Regardless of the information we have, make sure you challenge anyone coming onto your property and if you feel their presence is suspicious, take the initiative and phone the police on 999 once it is safe to do so. Burglary and theft are serious offences and if these people are wrongdoers, they need catching up with and taken off of our streets.

We encourage you all to visit the Thames Valley Police Website to see how easy it is to make reports of crimes, to get advice or to simply tell us about something you saw and think we need to know about it. To save you time searching, simply copy the link below and enter this in your search bar.
