Second man arrested in connection with gun incident in Reading

Thames Valley Police has arrested a second man in connection with an incident on Saturday night where a man was shot in the leg.

The incident occurred in Norfolk Street at around 7.05pm on Saturday (15/12) when three men approached the victim, a man in his thirties.

The victim was shot at close range by a firearm, believed to be a handgun. He remains in hospital in a serious, but stable condition.

Officers have now arrested a 23-year-old man from Reading on suspicion of wounding with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life/enable another to do so.

 A 35-year-old man from Reading who was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent has been released with no further action to be taken.
