Numerous arrests were made over the week in Arun and Chichester. The offences include:- domestic assault, racially aggravated assault, grievous bodily harm, shoplifting, criminal damage, drunk and disorderly, immigration, stalking, threats to kill, wanted on warrant, breach of bail, obstruction, shoplifting, harassment, possession of offensive weapon, aggravated burglary, driving whilst disqualified, drug driving, driving with no insurance, trespass on a railway, fraud and possession with intent to supply Class A drug.

Crime summary
 

Chichester (WC1)

 

St James Road, Chichester – On Monday 30 July a property was broken into overnight. A handbag and other small items were taken. Serial 185 30/07

 

Laburnum Grove, Chichester - On Tuesday 31 July, a property was entered whilst the occupants were away on holiday. Only jewellery was stolen. Serial 783 31/07

 

Malcolm Road, Tangmere – On Friday 3 August, several garages were broken into overnight. Items were stolen including alloy wheels, fishing equipment and tools. Serial 422 03/08

 

Kingsham Road, Chichester – On Saturday 4 August, a property was broken into by smashing the window to the downstairs toilet. An untidy search was conducted and items including a PlayStation were stolen. Serial 973 04/07

 

Bishop Luffa Close, Chichester- On Wednesday 1 August a rock was thrown through a window of a property and broke the glass, there were no witnesses to this incident. Serial 1519 01/08

 

Over the week, we have received 19 reports of vehicle breaks. These occurred in some of the following locations- Stansted Park
carpark, Cobnor Point, Chidham and Brandy Hole lane, Chichester.


 

Selsey, The Witterings and surrounding area (WC2)

 

Birdham Pool, Birdham – On Tuesday 7 August an engine and fuel tank were stolen from a boat at this location. There were witnesses to the incident and no CCTV footage of the offenders. Serial 1197 07/08

 

Midhurst, Petworth and surrounding area (WC3)

 

Toronto Road, Petworth- On Tuesday 31 July there was an attempted break to a property. Offenders tried to gain entry by forcing a back door, but were unsuccessful. Serial 1220 31/07

 

Bury C of E Primary School, Bury- On Thursday 9 August, two sheds at the school were broken into but nothing was stolen. Serial 863 09/08

 

Over the past week 8 vehicles have been broken into at various locations including Ambersham Common and Petworth Park.
