Serious Collision Yarm Back Lane


Police are appealing for information after a collision involving a black Seat Ibiza and a black Renault Megane occurred on Yarm Back Lane in Stockton (500m from the junction of Darlington Road).

The collision occurred at 7:55pm yesterday, Sunday 15th April.


As a result of the collision, the driver and two passengers from the Seat Ibiza were injured. The 19-year-old male driver was kept in overnight at James Cook University Hospital for less serious injuries.


The 29-year-old male passenger was taken to the same hospital where he is being treated for chest and spinal injuries. The 22-year-old female passenger was also taken to the same hospital where she is being treated for injuries to her shoulder and arm.


The 19-year-old driver of the Renault Megane was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation.  


Any witnesses who may have seen the collision or anyone who may have dash cam footage of the incident is asked to contact Sergeant Glyn Bavis from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 065878.
