Crime - Theft

FORE STREET, TROWBRIDGE,  A male youth suspect has walked into a shop and stolen sweets and left without making payment. The stolen item was retrieved by a staff member who was then assaulted by the suspect. The youth was arrested on suspicion of theft and assault and later released on Police Bail to return later in March.

POLEBARN ROAD, TROWBRIDGE, Police seized a Fiat Punto being driven without valid Insurance. Vehicle seized - no insurance - Section 165 of the RTA. VERRALL of Lamplighters Walk, Trowbridge was reported for Summons to appear at Court on a date to be confirmed.

WYNSOME STREET, SOUTHWICK, suspect(s) have gained access to a secure barn by unknown means and removed a grinder, 2 x chainsaws and a Honda generator. Value not known at this stage.

CHURCH STREET, HILPERTON, TROWBRIDGE, around midday, a suspect has stolen a purse from a victims bag. The purse was black and plastic leatherette material and contained TVO £150. cash and various bank and other cards.

ASDA, THE SHIRES, TROWBRIDGE, Male shoplifter stole 2x Xbox controllers TVO £25 each. Removed the security tags and placed the items into his own bag. Left the store not paying. Challenged by Police, and ran off. He was later arrested in the town park on suspicion of theft and still in possession of the goods. Nathan LAW, 35 NFA, Trowbridge was later charged with this and other outstanding thefts, motoring offences and assaulting 3 Police officers. He was remanded to court on the 13th March.

NANDO’S, ST STEPHENS LEISURE PARK, ST STEPHENS PLACE, TROWBRIDGE, 2 male Suspects have caused damage in the male toilets of a restaurant. The lights have been ripped off the ceiling and broken. The 2 males, both in their late teens, were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and being drunk and disorderly. They were later released RUI (Under Police Investigation). Enquiries are ongoing.

COUNTY WAY, TROWBRIDGE, Around 2035 hours on the 10th March a young female in her early teens was walking near the bridge towards the Toby Carvery when she was knocked to the floor and causing her to drop her handbag. Suspect has picked up the bag and made off with it. In the bag was a Samsung Mobile Phone. The victim was left with minor injuries, grazes to her right knee. Suspect is a male described as white, late teens/early 20’s wearing a hooded top under a coat. Police are appealing for any information to assist the ongoing investigation. ST STEPHENS PLACE, TROWBRIDGE, following a report of youths causing ASB in the Town park, officers attended. A young male in his early teens was arrested for possession of a bladed article and assault Police. He was released on Police bail for further enquiries to return to Melksham Custody later this month.

FORE STREET, TROWBRIDGE, suspect(s) have gained access to a Renault car by unknown means - no damage caused. A a First Bus workbag containing a Tupperware dish, £23-£25 cash, a diary, scarf, gloves, knife & fork and a water bottle were stolen from within.
