Update on last weekend's Operation Blitz activity

Last weekend, the team spent some time having been flagged down by a member of the public on their patrols to a report of a man who appeared asleep and slumped over the wheel of his car. With support from colleagues from the road policing team this incident was resolved. They were also called to search for youths on motorcycles in Princes Park & Five Acre Field, but found no sign of any motorbikes; and towards the end of their shift spent some time at a property in the town centre, after reports of criminal damage inside the property.

This week we would like to focus some patrols to the Etchingham Road area in Langney, following reports of crime and anti-social behaviour. The team will be encouraged to check for any obvious insecurities in the area and to take details of any groups gathering and causing a nuisance or concern in the neighbourhood. This will help support work already being completed with Eastbourne Homes Limited, supporting their tenants who have complained of anti-social behaviour over recent months.

Parks and gardens such as Motcombe and Gildredge Park will continue to be a focus for patrols. Should anyone wish to contact the team about any particular issue to them or their community, I would urge them to call the telephone number for Operation Blitz on Friday and Saturday evening, between 6pm and midnight.
